To provide teens and adults of all abilities the opportunity to gain essential work and social skills focused on building optimal independence within a supportive and loving environment.

Our Purpose

The Inclusive Bean is a woman-led coffee shop, focused on building a sense of community. As strong advocates for inclusion and neurodiversity, we are dedicated to making the world a better, more accessible, place for individuals with disabilities. Located in Racine, Wisconsin, employing individuals with various cognitive, developmental, and physical disabilities in a place where they are coached, empowered, trained, and over time placed into a fully integrated work environment.

Meet the Leadership Team

  • Amelia Fahnrich

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Amelia is the Executive Director of The Inclusive Bean and has dreamed of opening a place of employment like this for many years. Amelia currently works as the Executive Director/Principal for a local private non-profit school for children with disabilities, and has worked for the school for four years. Prior to this, Amelia worked with children on the Autism Spectrum providing Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy for 5+ years. Amelia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science as well as Psychology. She also has an Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy which comes in handy regarding job performance, social skills, and making work functional and accessible for all employees. Amelia also has a Master’s Degree in Special Education, which plays a great benefit in her understanding and ability to work with individuals with disabilities and help aid in a successful learning process for them.

  • Max Fahnrich

    VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS

    Max strongly believes in the power of finding common ground with others and values the importance of fostering relationships that are built on trust, respect, and shared values. Family is a central part of Max’s life, and he carries that sentiment with him in all of his interactions. He understands the importance of building meaningful relationships with those around him, and is always looking for ways to share his values and make a positive impact in the world. Growing up in an entrepreneurial family has allowed him to see the benefit of hard work and believing in yourself. He brings this same drive and determination to his professional life, always striving to enhance the lives of others through his work.

    Creating positive impacts in the lives of others is the main focus. By creating jobs and empowering people with disabilities, he hopes to inspire others to do the same and create a more inclusive society.The next step is more than just the next business venture - it's a mission to create positive change in his hometown and beyond. Above all, Max values building lasting relationships, and he has developed the skills to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life. His outgoing personality and relationship-driven approach make him a valuable asset in any personal or professional setting.

  • Helena Fahnrich

    GENERAL MANAGER

    Helena brings multiple years of experience working in coffee to her role as general manager as she worked in the industry while obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree in English at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. Although most of her experience lies within the Milwaukee community, she also spent time as a Barista in Colorado where her appreciation for coffee culture continued to grow. Helena has a background working as a special education aide in local school districts. She also serves the community as a volunteer peer group facilitator for the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Milwaukee, an organization she has supported for close to ten years. Helena brings her passion for coffee making and keen interest in peer advocacy to her role at the Inclusive Bean.
